Power Of Conscious Relationships

Updated: Jun 21

Conscious relationships as the name suggests is simply a conscious building of a partnership built on mutual respect, understanding, and an awareness of each other's needs and desires. A conscious relationship requires a level of awareness and understanding that goes beyond the physical and emotional aspects of a relationship.[1] It involves strong self-awareness, self-work along with recognizing and respecting the other person's individuality and allowing them to grow and evolve in their own way. This translates into understanding that every individual is shaped by their life experiences, which has shaped their consciousnesses. This awareness in both individuals can lead to acceptance of both the healed and the unhealed imprints of their consciousnesses. In a conscious relationship, both partners are committed to personal growth and self-improvement, which in turn strengthens the relationship. It doesn't mean that conflicts or tensions might never arise, rather they are understood, given their due diligence and resolved by working on the root of the particular emotion which surfaces. For example, if there is anger, which is psychologist understand is due to your inner self feeling pain, which has surfaced either might be due to our or others actions. Our consciousness masks emotions and represent them in a form which is protective or defensive. The unrealistic as well as unmet expectations and attachments usually create unnecessary tension and conflict in relationships. By practicing mindfulness and being fully present with each other, couples can deepen their connection and experience a more fulfilling relationship.
